Known to almost no one as "The Habe", I joined the CERN softball team in 1995, while on sabbatical from U.C. Santa Cruz. The biggest adjustment required in the transition from U.C. Santa Cruz intramural softball to the Geneva Softball League involved the occasional chaotic trajectories of ground-balls, which I assumed was due to an increase in quantum uncertainty around the lip of the infield grass. At the end of the 1995, I was traded back to UCSC for the mysterious player-to-be-named-later. Due to the good graces of the GSL management, I am allowed to relive old glories with the CERN team for a couple of weeks each summer. Back in Santa Cruz, apart from two championships with the coed Re-Entry team, I specialize in supersymmetry, Higgs bosons, intermediate vector baseballs, and other figments of the theoretical mind.
