Maps
If you don't know where Versoix is, you can probably find your
way there using the
Marine House map. If you are
still lost, the
International Geneva Guide has a few useful maps, as well.
There is also a College du Leman
web site. But there are no maps there, as far as I can tell.
Directions from Ferney-Voltaire, Geneva
If you are coming Ferney-Voltaire and points south, just take
the main road (route de Versoix) from Ferney, through the
Douane, past the bison, through the roundabout near Collex, and
straight on to the big roundabout in Versoix. If you are coming
from Geneva, just take the road that goes along the lake shore
straight to Versoix. You'll hit the same roundabout.
From the roundabout head through town (direction Lausanne) until
you come to a road that heads up away from the lake toward
Sauverny. There is a sign at the intersection that says
College du Leman. It is correct. Turn left and head up
that road a few blocks (half a km or so) until you see a big sign
that says College du Leman. The sign will be on your left.
Don't turn there. Go up another block and the college and parking
will be on your right. Hopefully that is where they want us to
park.
Directions from Gex, Divonne
If you are coming from Gex or Divonne or Cessy, etc. I suggest heading
to Sauverny. Go through the Douane on the road that goes to
Versoix. The College is on that road on your left just before you get
to Versoix. There is a big sign on your left that says "College du
Leman". It is correct.
Directions from Lausanne
Take the autoroute exit that says Versoix and head to Versoix. Just
as you get into town, there is a road on the right that heads up to
Sauverny. There is a sign at the intersection that says
College du Leman. It is correct. Turn right and head up
that road a few blocks (half a km or so) until you see a big sign
that says College du Leman. The sign will be on your left.
Don't turn there. Go up another block and the college and parking
will be on your right. Hopefully that is where they want us to
park.
Directions for Public Transport (from Mike)
Take the regional train from Geneva. It leaves every hour about two
minutes after the hour on platform #1. Get off at the Pont Ceard stop,
the one after the main Versoix stop. After that, you go down the
steps from the train station and turn left. After walking about a
block or so, you see the school on the right.
The Field
The softball field is behind the school. There is a road which will
take you right behind home plate, but I did not see any parking there.
I suggest parking at the school.
No Beer
Sorry! In French, college means high school. The
principal would appreciate it if we waited until after the game to
celebrate.
